Adding a splash of colour

When it comes to washroom and changing room design, colour shouldn’t be underestimated as a design tool.

Colour is a great way to add personality and while white washroom fittings remain popular, other elements of a washroom or changing area can be created in a huge array of different colours to suit a particular design or meet specific corporate branding guidelines.

Toilet, changing and shower cubicles can all be manufactured in a range of different colours and finishes. From solid grade laminate to Formica laminate and Fenix NTM, there’s a wealth of different colours and patterns available to choose from – take a look in our colour toolbox to see for yourself.

But if you can’t find the colour you need, we can paint cubicles to any RAL colour using our state-of-the-art heated spray paint facility at our Essex factory.

Solid surface materials such as Corian, which are ideal for vanity units and duct panelling for example, are also available in a wide selection of non-solid and solid colours – meaning there’s something to suit any project specification.

Glass can be back-painted to almost any shade required so whether it’s a cubicle door, duct panel system or vanity splashback there’s no need to compromise. It’s all about finding the right balance and one or two bright colours combined with a neutral palette or monochrome design will add a simple pop of colour without overpowering the design.

Using combinations of two or more colours for cubicle doors and pilasters can also be used to create a striking feature as part of your washroom design.

At Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre our glass iLockers were back-painted in a mixture of grey, green and white and were installed together to create an attractive pattern which stands out perfectly against the stylish all grey changing room design.

And why not consider digital screen-printed graphics as an option too? The new washrooms at The Borderline club in Soho, which has provided a platform to countless bands and artists over the last two decades, cleverly incorporates unique graphics. The Solid Grade Laminate Concerto duct panel system installed in each cubicle features a different specialist graphic printed sheet to the face. All the graphics were specially designed by the architect to reflect the personality and style of The Borderline.
