Washroom keeps calm and carries on working

25th September 2020

It’s been six months since strict lockdown rules came into force with workplaces, schools and leisure facilities all closed to limit the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19. Now as things are starting to open up again, it’s a good time to reflect on all we’ve achieved during the last six months as we kept calm and carried on doing what we do best – delivering outstanding washrooms for our clients.

Grey corian trough vanity

Our number one priority has always been to ensure the safety of our team during every aspect of a project, whether that’s in the office, on the factory floor, out on the road or on site. We pride ourselves on our flexible approach as a company and we were quick to adapt to the new regulations and guidelines even as they continued to change. You can read all about the specific measures we’ve introduced here: (news story to follow!)

We knew we needed to support our clients by maintaining agreed scheduling and deadlines where possible. With our safety measures in place we’ve been able to complete numerous projects across different sectors during this challenging period including:

Introducing our first fully-functioning full-sized mock-up

We’ve found that, especially on larger, more complex projects, a full-size mock-up is a really useful way for our clients to visualise washroom designs ahead of installation.

While we always make sure they’re as accurate and as close to the finished product as possible, we’ve taken this to a new level by creating our first fully-functioning mock-up with running water for a major new project. So, once it’s complete at the end of October, the client will be able come to our factory and not just look at the finished design but walk around it and even use it.

Work is due to start on site in early 2021 – meaning any alterations to the design can be agreed and implemented well in advance of our team manufacturing the products and installing the new washrooms on site.

Works underway on an extraordinary project for TJX Europe with ISG

We’re currently working on a large-scale project for TJX’s London headquarters building, which includes the fit-out of new washrooms on ten levels plus a staff shower and changing area in the basement. The design is completely bespoke with unique products and finishes specified throughout including our Tego hinged mirrors with copper frames and unusual shaped vanity units, created just for this project. We’re also providing all the ancillaries, which are again totally bespoke to this project. We’re excited to see how it all comes together!

Fresh new facilities for returning office workers

Office washrooms have arguably never been more important as workplaces need to provide hygienically clean facilities to promote regular hand-washing. During the last six months we’ve completed works on several high-profile office buildings including at Stockley Park, Ditton Park and Cambridge Science Park. We’re hard at work on several more office projects at the moment, installing new staff shower and changing facilities as well as washrooms, ready to welcome office workers back.

A hat-trick of fitness projects

We’re nearing completion on works to install new washrooms and changing areas at two new state-of-the-art football training facilities at Leicester City FC and Liverpool FC. Our full height Alto toilet cubicles plus Forte changing cubicles and full height Concerto integrated duct panel system proved to be a winning combination for both projects.

We’ve also completed the installation of new washroom facilities within the changing rooms at Peloton’s new headquarters in Covent Garden. We were required to match the product specification used in the company’s New York base and our Alto Kristalla glass toilet cubicles with black ironmongery and glass shower door sets, also with black ironmongery, were the perfect match.

Same but different

You can rely on us to deliver the same excellent service, quality, and attention to detail as always, we’re just working in a slightly different way. And with our newly extended factory now fully operational, we’ve got increased capacity to take on projects so if you’ve got a project in mind, get in touch with the team and see how we can work together.

In the meantime, keep an eye on our LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter accounts for the latest projects, news and updates.
