The stunning post-modernist style mixed-use office and retail building at One Poultry was the last building to have been completed by James Stirling and has since been granted Grade II* listed status. With its distinctive stripy façade and rounded clock tower, it’s a well-known landmark in the City and has recently undergone a refurbishment by Paragon and Buckley Gray Yeoman architects, with washrooms and shower areas delivered by our team.

Creating the new staff shower and changing area in the basement was a key part of the project and one of the most fun and colourful areas of the newly refurbished building. The bespoke design draws on a mix of bold primary colours, with each shower cubicle featuring a different colour shower head and control. The result is a striking space which perfectly suits the new-look interior of the refurbished building.

Shower cubicles

We installed our highly engineered Marcato shower cubicles, which we manufactured full height to offer users complete privacy. The 20mm solid grade laminate (SGL) shower cubicle doors were specified in a vibrant blue shade, while the pilasters were manufactured from birch and overlaid with black mesh to add a unique element and complement the rest. As well as being a colourful addition to the shower area, the SGL shower cubicle doors are extremely durable, easy to clean and resistant to moisture – the perfect balance of form and function.

Our bespoke Legato benching was designed by the team to edge the changing area and sits directly underneath the locker units. The benching was manufactured from birch ply slats to complement the shower cubicles and wall panelling within the shower and changing area.

No staff shower and changing area would be complete without secure lockers and our Forza solid grade laminate lockers proved the perfect solution for this project. The specially-designed Z shape configuration means that each locker can comfortably accommodate a suit hung up, without limiting the number of lockers available and the key locks ensure belongs can be safely stored away.

Completing the shower area, we installed a bespoke Corian vanity unit and make-up counter in a crisp white colour with small inset square waste bins and a mirror above housing paper tissue dispensers.
