200 Grays Inn Road London
Originally designed by Foster + Partners and home to ITN since it was first built in 1990, 200 Grays Inn Road is a landmark building.
Currently undergoing an extensive two year phased refurbishment, led by Ian McArdle Architects with Overbury as the main contractor, to improve the overall energy efficiency of the building as well as upgrading the office facilities to provide 26,000m2 of Grade A office accommodation.
Working closely with Great Portland Estates (GPE), which holds one of the largest commercial portfolios in the West End, Washroom installed new washrooms on floors four and six as part of the first phase, working around existing workers in a live office environment.
Designed to complement the modern, high specification style of the refurbished building, the new washrooms feature quality materials and bespoke design elements to meet the high standards increasingly demanded by office staff.
Washroom installed its full height, floor-to-ceiling Alto WC cubicles to provide the ultimate privacy and home-from-home feel increasingly seen in office washroom facilities. In addition, Washroom’s Concerto integrated duct panel system was installed behind the WCs to ensure ease of access for future maintenance, whether planned or reactive.
Both the WC ducts and Alto cubicle doors were manufactured with a simple but effective white gloss laminate finish, mirroring the modern, bright and airy design of the building and creating a cohesive design.
For the vanities, a bespoke Corian design incorporating individual basins as well as inset soap dispensers and concealed waste bins and manufactured in bright white, complete the minimalist look. Corian, which can be cut to any shape, bent and joined with inconspicuous seams to produce a perfectly neat and unified appearance, is incredibly durable so is the ideal choice for a busy office washroom environment.
