Vanity tops are manufactured from 20mm engineered stone such as Zodiaq, supported on an 18mm MDF substrate. Being a man made product the surface is non porous and does not need to be sealed as would a natural stone.
Many colours are available, some aping natural stones whereas some utilize heavy and large crystal use to create stunning light play and depth.
edge / profile options
Engineered stones are machined in the same fashion as natural ones. Front edges can be built up to form an apron detail to conceal the substrate. Alternatively some quartz based surfaces like Zodiaq are available in 30mm thick . This negates the need for a substrate meaning simple profiles can be machined into the front edge for a cleaner crisper appearance.

Vanity tops may be supported on an internal timber framework faced with access under panels in a choice of complementary materials such as HPL & SGL or complementary real wood veneers.
Alternatively,especially with 30mm thick surfacing the tops can be supported on stainless steel brackets.

More forgiving than natural stone and without the maintenance, engineered quartz based stones are ideal for executive washrooms such as city offices, restaurants & night clubs.
Due to its totally waterproof nature, quartz vanity units can be fitted with undermounted wash hand basins.
